Eclectic by character. United in impact.

Carlton Hotels is a family of 11 unique hotels across Europe, each with its own atmosphere, location and character. What connects us is the way we take responsibility for our impact.

We want our hotels to be more than just welcoming places to stay or work. We also want to make a positive contribution to our people, our communities and the world around us.

That’s why we’re working on a clear sustainability strategy for the years ahead, with practical steps, realistic goals and room to keep learning and improving.

Our people

Our people are what make Carlton what it is. Every day, they help create memorable experiences for our guests.

That’s why we’re building a working environment where everyone feels at home, is valued as an individual and has the opportunity to grow.

We offer training and development opportunities, encourage career progression and set personal goals that reflect each person’s talents and ambitions. We bring together different generations and backgrounds, creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome.

We regularly check in with our teams to understand how they’re doing and continue to improve where needed. Whether you’re just starting out, taking the next step in your career or moving on to a new chapter, you’ll always be part of the Carlton family.

Our goal: To create a working environment where employees can develop their skills, progress in their careers and build a lasting connection with Carlton.

Sustainable purchasing & waste reduction

Many of our impacts come from the everyday choices we make: what we buy, what we serve and how we manage waste.

We increasingly work with suppliers who are transparent about their products and where they come from. When renovating, we look for opportunities to reuse materials and consider their quality and lifespan.

At the same time, we’re taking steps to reduce waste, increase recycling and cut down on food waste. We do this by purchasing more efficiently, better matching portion sizes to demand and working with initiatives such as Too Good To Go.

Our goal: To reduce residual waste and food waste per stay, while increasing recycling rates.

Climate & environmental footprint

We take a close look at our energy and water consumption and our CO₂ emissions. Where can we use resources more efficiently? And where can we reduce our impact?

We’re working to gain a clearer picture of our environmental impact at each hotel and taking steps to improve. This includes saving energy, using water more efficiently and exploring more sustainable energy sources. From 2027, all our hotels will use 100% green electricity.

We aim to reduce CO₂ emissions at each hotel and are working towards this with clear goals.

We’re making progress step by step, focusing on what we can do today and how we can do better tomorrow.

Local business & community

Our hotels are closely connected to their surroundings and the people, flavours and stories that make each place unique.

We work with local producers and partners, bringing the local character to life in our hotels. From dishes on our menus to collaborations with businesses in the neighbourhood.

This allows us to offer guests more than just a place to stay. We create experiences that help them truly discover the destination, while contributing to a strong and vibrant local community.

Our goal: Every hotel develops initiatives and partnerships that benefit the local community and reflect the character of the destination.

One Collection, One Impact

Eclectic by character means that every hotel retains its own identity.

United in impact means that we work together to make improvements, each in our own way, but all moving in the same direction.

We share our progress annually in our Impact Report and continue to learn, test and improve.

Because hospitality means more to us than comfort. It’s about care, responsibility and moving forward together.

Working together towards a more sustainable future

At Carlton President, we believe that hospitality and caring for our environment go hand in hand. That’s why we’re taking steps to reduce waste, use energy more efficiently and source more local products. With our new Green Team, we’re giving sustainable initiatives within the hotel extra attention.

In 2026, our focus includes reducing food waste with Orbisk, managing our climate control systems more efficiently and reducing single-use packaging and paper consumption. We’re also encouraging guests to choose GoGreen and giving local products a more prominent place on our menu.
